Vlogging My Way Through the Princess Half Marathon.

Vlogging My Way Through the Princess Half Marathon.

First I must apologize.

I keep holding my phone the darn wrong way.

That said. I think it ironic that I shot this footage in the early morning hours of Oscar night because it is sooooo fabulous.

It captures all the glitz and glamour and Up Close and Personal stuff that merits the Pulitzer. Every angle and every word was scrutinized with the utmost care.

Heck no. I can’t even remember to hold the camera the right way.

But if you want to know what it was like to run 13.1 miles surrounded my 25,000 women as Disney Princesses — or at least in tutus — this is your video.

Watch this you’ll be dying to sign up for the next one or maybe not so much,

but I saw lots of women (and some men) having an uber great time.

If you sign on for next year let me know, I need to be talked into a tutu.

Have you ever run a race in costume?

    I’m sending you one!!!!!

Gina — You’ve got to come in one too. It was obvious that a lot of these ladies really took time on theirs. Lots of creativity with needle, thread, wicking material and sequins I tell you.

Ha, I’ve never raised in costume or tutu but I would love to. I have a lot of friends who are runners and do various races, but I’m always afraid to join them because i’m not a “real runner” I feel like I would hold them back or something!

    Fun! 🙂

just saw this – I saw so many costumes at the finish line of pas Disney marathons and esp. Goofy; and I am impressed by the commitment not only to put it on but to leave it all on esp. on hot days. And some run with props, too!

I’ve started races in costume but typically shed the irritating parts along the way, Gasparilla being the exception, running across the finish line with the eye patch and yelling “ARRRGH” . . . just too much fun playing pirate!

Michelle — I don’t think I could run in one of those elaborate costumes. The time it must have taken some of them — or the money they paid someone. I hate to get overheated or be bothered by anything on a run. (Much less a longer one.) A weird little tag on a shirt can make me BONKERS. I don’t think I could do it — however your suggestion re the planned shedding might work. And I want to do the Gasparilla next year. I’m going to put it on my mental iCloud.
