The Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon — 22 degrees

The Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon — 22 degrees

Happy Thanksgiving Mates.

Another late post. It’s 11 pm here. This morning I woke up at. 4.

Then I headed into Atlanta for the race.

It was cold for us Georgia runners.

But I had lots of layers. And coffee.

The awesome part about this race is that we could sit in our cars till the race started. So at 7:20 I opened the car door and headed out.

And off we went.

About the time we hit Piedmont Park — my phone battery fired.

Well. I’ve fallen asleep twice trying to finish this post.

It was a great day. Cold but beautiful.

See ya tomorrow. NaBloPoMo – Day 29.

Way to go, Jamie! You cross the real finish line, and you’re inches away from (again) completing the NaBloPoMo marathon. Loved the photos–made me feel like I was there. My brother lives in ATL, and I was floored when I called yesterday to wish him a happy Thanksgiving and learned the temps were in the 20s. Aren’t there laws against that?!? (And thank goodness for being allowed to sit in your cars!)

No truer words were ever written, Karen. Being able to sit in a heated car made all the difference. Written by one who has stood around for two hours in freezing temps and wind before races. It really wasn’t that bad once we started moving.

That is a great word May. Thanks. I like that image. Pace doesn’t matter. I’ll just keep going.
