Thank goodness we don’t live in a brandy snifter anymore.

Thank goodness we don’t live in a brandy snifter anymore.

Yippee!

We are in our new space.  The renovation of our house complete.

We can stretch our arms and legs to their full circumference.

I just walk around like this all day because I can.

There is sooo much space. Just ask our fish — Christmas.

Before the move he lived in a brandy snifter. This one to be exact. There was no room in our little apartment.

Today I dumped Christmas into his new, improved house.

He’s not dead. I just checked. Probably just stunned with all that water to roam.

So much to be thankful about.

So linking up with Ten Things of Thankful. (because I’m thankful and they are so fun darn it.)

10.  For the first time in 25 years (not counting nice hotel rooms) we are sleeping in a king bed.  Yippee.

I was worried that we would grow apart sleeping on a mattress where we couldn’t touch each other.

I LOVE it.

9.   My friend let me use her buns. I mean Bunn in our new kitchen.

I LOVE it. Got to buy me one.

8.    I can now get up early and not wake up the household. Yippee. Three whole hours to myself yesterday.

Well, the cats still maul me for their food but other than that, I LOVE it.

7.  The tankless water heater.

Before the reno, no one could shower within 24 hours of another. Now we have endless — I mean endless — hot water.

LOVE it.

6.  A beautiful new refrigerator to destroy.

Not that I plan on it. We just seem to be hard on refrigerators.

5.  Two bathrooms for four people — one being a soon-to-be teen.

4.  A nice, big beautiful new kitchen.

Not since we were newlyweds living in a new apartment, have I had a new kitchen.

This brings me joy.

3.  My new set of knives.

Thought I severed my pinky from my hand — only once.

2.  My washer and dryer is not in my kitchen anymore. Yippee.

Yes. They reside in their own little room with their own little door that I can shut when it gets a little crazy in there.

1.  My husband is happy.

Yes. He floats around our new space just like Christmas in his new bowl.  Every now and then I have to shake to make sure he’s still breathing.

But all in all, we are most thankful.

What about you? What makes you thankful looking over the week that was?

So many big (literally!) changes for you! King sized bed, improved living space…marvelous things.
A tankless water heater sounds marvelous. We used to have problems with running out of hot water, until we turned the water heater up higher than 120. I hate wasting the energy during the day and night when no one is showering.
I’m glad you find the TToT fun. I have loads of fun going around to read everyone’s posts.

Beautiful, beautiful SPACE 😀 (and nice betta, too)

Ohhh I remember when we moved into our flat and danced in all the rooms BECAUSE WE COULD.

It’s absolutely transforming, and I’m thrilled for you 😀

  3. Jamie Miles says:

I’m thrilled too Lizzie. So much new room to swim.

  4. Jamie Miles says:

I hate to sound so First World — but the water heater is transforming.

  5. Sounds like lots of great space to live and move around in. We did not buy a King bed when we got married for the same reason – we were certain we’d prefer being close enough to touch. For a couple of years, it was pretty true. But when we do have an opportunity to use a King bed…oh, how I wish we had purchased one back then!

Enjoy the new place and happy new year!

I am smiling ear to ear just thinking of you roaming around the place and twirling , waving your arms just cuz ya can! Congrats on the new space, Jamie! It sounds fabulous! King sized bed… oh man…so jealous!

  7. Your husband is floating around your new space like Christmas in his new bowl? Is your husband floating on his back, too?! I’m not convinced Christmas is still of this world.
And a King-sized bed would be awwwwesome! We once thought we wanted to sleep closer together than a King-sized bed would allow, but that’s before one of us grew quite a bit (and it wasn’t me, not to point any fingers or anything). Jealous!

  8. Sarah says:

Wow, your joy is palpable. It reminds me of our move into our house last April after staying with in-laws for five months. The freedom!!!

  9. I love your new fish and actually had one similar to him when I was a kid. So, totally brought back one memories there for me. And must admit a bit jealous of that king size bed, since we only have a queen, but sounds truly amazing. And yay again to your new kitchen finally being done. Happy Weekend and so much to be thankful for indeed!! 🙂

  10. Louise says:

    Your new space sounds wonderful!

We added a second bathroom to our home last year and it was heaven! But we need a bigger water heater for the larger tub now. So tankless you say? Hmmmm.

I’d love a king size bed – no go in our current bedroom – but something to dream about one day, right? You’re so lucky!

And the ability not to wake up the house when you get up…. Oooh, I could go on, but I’ll just end there. You sound like you have so much to be thankful for!

I love love love watching HGTV so hearing about a reno is always awesome in my book. Wow so many things that you all can do now that people might take for granted. I know you all will cherish the new set up for years to come!

  12. Hey, a new kitchen! That’s always so cool! Thanks for sharing this thankful list with us!

  13. It all sounds SO wonderful — and I’m way jealous of the endless hot water, we’ve been talking about getting one of those tankless water heaters. So…MEH wants to know: gas or electric? Congrats on the new wonderful space!!

  14. Yay! So glad that the renovations are complete.
    And your fish is beautiful!

  15. Wow! I don’t know you but am soooo happy for you and totally feel your sunshine 🙂
I remember I felt the same way about our King size bed, but man, I can’t go back now. If we stay in a hotel with two queens, we each take one!

    When is the “big reveal”?!

We slept in an antique full size bed throughout all three of my pregnancies. Young and in love. Now old and in love we are happier in our queen size, but from time to time the thought of a king flickers through my brain.
