Now I can sleep tonight.
“Oh cr@p.”
Outside in the dark and cold emptying the recyclables, I remembered.
The lettuce.
Ugh.
Like most of you, our temps are to plummet tonight and even into the teens tomorrow night.
My Red Romaine would not make it.
I gave some away to friends today but there was one head left — for me. But I forgot to go out there and pick it. Until now. When it was dark and cold and windy.
Going out to the garden I spied . . .
Ugh.
There is always a gnome to worry about.
Aren’t the children, dog, cats, husband and turtle enough?
I harvested my lettuce.
And went back out into the garden.
Now I can sleep tonight.
NaBloPoMo Day 18 . . . if it was the 18th. ha.
Day 17.
Love those Gnomes. My brother’s went on a trip, then came home…without him. Later he received photos of his trip. haha
Now I feel like a very bad gnome mom. Not once have I ever wrapped ours, so if a stray gnome (or 3) show up in your yard, just know they’ve escaped the inhumane treatment here.
Okay, those gnomes totally freak me out! I would cover it up too – but not because it was cold out! Glad you got your lettuce!
You Gnome Protectir, you! Too funny 🙂
that made me laugh out loud!!
I was laughing too Donna — seeing that darn gnome standing there. 🙂
He is a little cranky Lois. But he does a good job of keep the deer away. So I put up with his hijinks.
Well, maybe Mary if they are in a group, they build a little fire? My guy looked so darn lonely. He probably thought why is she doing this to me?
Wow. That opens up a world of possibilities Elin. A gnome adventure?
I try Jackie. 🙂
Very cute post! Glad you took care of the gnome. And yes, knowing that you’ve got nothing to worry about (in this case, your lettuce), is sure to help you sleep better.
