Home Sweet Home. A list of Ten.

Home Sweet Home. A list of Ten.

It’s Monday. A holiday Monday.

Which means tomorrow, a Tuesday will seem like Monday and I will miss Modern Family on Wednesday night because I will think it is Tuesday night.

Brushing aside all frivolity for the moment, I do remember those who gave their lives so I can sit here and write my thoughts, vote my heart and worship my God.

Thank you.

Stasha’s Monday Listicles are to list ten words describing your home.

10.  Messy

9.  Love

8.  Old

7.  Pine

6.  Porch

5.  Energy

4.  Noise

3.  Safe

2 . Eclectic

1.  Evolving

This list was to be about a home which is far different than the house.

But for me,  our house and our home so intertwine that I can’t tell where one begins and the other ends.

My husband wishes we live in new construction.

Can’t imagine living where I don’t walk barefoot on 112-year-old heart pine surrounded by plaster of the same age.

Our house envelopes us. She loves us. And keeps us safe.

She completes our family.

My husband is rolling his eyes so far back in his head right now.

What about you? Is your house your home?

  1. Ha! I laughed out loud at your husband rolling his eyes…sounds exactly like mine 😉
I love that you love your home so much, and can’t imagine living anywhere else.

    Great list.
I love the eclectic. Lots of different, hand-picked things – they don’t have to match, they just have to be you. That’s awesome.
I also love old things. Like old flooring or old railroad ties used for fireplace mantles…
Our house is a place we live right now, but I have plans for a home. For now, home is inside of me and that’s alright. Actually, I have big plans…

Our house is our home too. For me probably for the very first time in my life ever. I would love to live in an older home with character. Isn’t it funny how old houses keep evolving but new builds kinda just are?

  4. Amber says:

If only we could power our homes with all the energy that runs through them.

  5. Jamie Miles says:

Well, that’s the way I feel Stasha. My husband is not so sure.

  6. Jamie Miles says:

That’s a great point Amber. Though I love the hustle and bustle — I do crave peace every now and then.

A little slow getting around this week…….love the idea of an old house with history, and stories, and life that already unfolded within it’s walls. reminds me of my grandparents old farmhouse.

  8. Wow! Your place obviously has soul and character. New construction? Not so much…Great list–particularly the eye-rolling part:)
