Blurb Photo Books Preserve My Instalife.

Blurb Photo Books Preserve My Instalife.

A few years ago, my husband wanted a unique gift for his parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

We thought long and hard about what was special to them and how could we incorporate it into a thoughtful gift?

Family. That was the answer to the first question.  And more specifically, the annuals trips with my husband’s siblings and their children at the beach.

He created a scrapbook chronicling each year that we had gone — over 15 years now.

Well, my in-laws had kittens when they saw the book filled with photos representing each year.

They keep the book out on their coffee table for all who visit to enjoy.

Recently, I had the opportunity to create a Blurb photo album.

I used photos from my Instagram account.

It was so easy. I got online, connected to Instagram and 1, 2, 3 ~ and received an awesome keepsake book. One that now sits on our coffee table that my children, family and friends enjoy looking through over and over.

I titled my book: My Instalife.

Very clever of me, I know.

It’s funny. Looking back through my photos snapped throughout daily life, I’ve created a visual diary of small moments that make up our little corner of the world.

Now with the help of Blurb.com I can make a tangible keepsake of our year. Our summer escapades. The family trip to Chicago this September. It makes persevering those special times so much easier.

I look at all my husband went through to create his scrapbook.

The time, the money, the energy.

Granted it was handcrafted in love for an extra-special event — but will he EVER to it again?

I teased him about his new scrapbooking mistress and how he was going to be dropping by craft stores on the way home from work. Spending hours upon hours looking for nick-nacks and construction paper to feed his habit.

Creating this wonderful keepsake book with the help of Blurb made me realize how easy it is to persevere memories. (And I’m embarrassed to admit how many photos I’ve lost when my smartphones have been destroyed. NOT very smart of me.)

I really liked that Blurb took photos directly from my Instagram account or Facebook page. Effortless.

Now the pictures are in book form, where we all can enjoy them at anytime.

So get all those special photos off your phone and camera chip and in a fun and creative form where you can enjoy them every day.

What better, easier way to create one-of-a-kind personalized gifts for those you love?

I love learning about alternatives to Shutterfly! I also always have intentions of making these awesome photo books as gifts, then don’t get my act together on time.

Your photos look way more hip than mine. I need to work on that.

Planning on doing a book for Big Daddy for Christmas with pictures from his trips with my kids! THIS would be a big help with the ol’ budget! (I wanna see your book next time I’m bringing HK home or something!)

I have tried doing the cute little books and they are precious when you get them, but it seems to take me forever to create one. I am not computer savvy like you are Jamie. Maybe it just takes more practice and organization with my pictures. I have some on my camera and on my phone. I need to do better. You have inspired me to try again!
