Thoughts on feeling fall.
It’s a hot, humid Sunday afternoon in Central Georgia. The calendar reads September 1.
In twenty-some days fall arrives. That’s our Stream of Consciousness Sunday prompt.
How fall makes me feel.
Five minutes of uncensored, unedited writing.
Go:
I feel color. Oranges, yellows and browns.
Crisp air replaces sticky.
Clear blue sky overtakes the late summer heated haze.
Smoke from wood fires fill the air and my nose.
I love the smell of a fire. (and when it is cool enough outside to enjoy it)
At some point, summer’s heat even wear on me. A Florida heat-seeking missile of a girl.
Even I start to long for a change. Putting the bathing suits to the back of the drawers and pulling out the jeans — to see how they fit.
Fall makes me yearn for pumpkins on my stoop and the neighbors. Trees filled with colorful leaves.
If fall would stay fall and change to spring — after two weeks of winter — I would be happy.
TIME.
So what to you think? How does fall make you feel?
