Judge’s comments:
This author has a gift for touching one’s heart. An example: ‘ . . . month after month made me feel less than a woman. I felt vulnerable and hated it.’ This is just one of many lines of prose that filled my heart with compassion for the writer, not to mention sadness for the situation she found herself in. I kept reading and thinking: I hope others realize what a gifted talent we have with this author.
