Today is a celebration of shadows.
Well, a certain shadow.
A furry rodent’s.
No that’s me silly. Around here the groundhogs, chipmunks and early afternoon runners all saw their shadows today.
I missed the mark on my 10 mile training run last weekend.
Today, I determined to get it done. Although I was sad my friend couldn’t join me.
Setting my jaw and adjusting my cap, I turned inward on my shadowy self, plugged in and zoned out.
Keeping one foot in front of the other. In front of the other.
Got it done.

Even my s0-s0 pace per mile.
Some days are just mental runs.
Who am I kidding? Lately they have all been mental runs.
I find myself daydreaming about riding my bike on Dixie Highway. Looking over the pastures and conversing with dear cows.
This leaves me wondering who is this person who has taken up residence inside my bod and what has she done with the old Jamie Miles?
The one who hated her bike and loved to run forever.
The old Jamie with nice shiny, tight running gear and that looked most awesome on her nice shiny, tight
Guess her joints got old and died.
The impostor got the job done on old Jamie’s raggedy knees.
And new Jamie can check that off her to-do list?
