Six giggling girls upstairs.
Six giggling girls spending the night. There were to be eight guests but two came down with bugs.
I should be afraid.
Or rather I was afraid earlier today.
Afraid of tween girl drama.
But so far it’s been really quiet.
(Maybe I should be more afraid by their silence?)
In some ways I’m afraid with my little girl now on the cusp of thirteen.
Snapchat and instant message this.
For now this is just something she does with these girls.
I know that one day boys will enter the picture.
Okay. It’s still quiet.
But it’s only five in the afternoon.
TIME.

Snapchat. I’m afraid of Snapchat! I don’t know what in the noodle that is, but it sounds like something I should be afraid of. (Did you check on the quietude? Is all well over there?) That precious cusp between child and child/young woman – EEK! I’m 8 years behind you on that one. I’ll just watch and see how this works out for you before making any snap decisions.
