The Water Break. #iPPP

The Water Break. #iPPP

For many years I prayed for more children. I thought of all I wished to do with more sweet blessings.

Lunches in the park, long walks in the twilight and shared popcorn at the movies.

Waiting around for over an hour at athletic practice never entered my mind.

But if your child participates in sports, music or any after school activity — you are going to find yourself waiting around.

I used to get out of the car, be social — friendly even. Now I look at that time in the car as a chunk of time to do something productive.

So halfway through practice the other day, up came my little tackler for a water break.

To remove that plastic bottle from his mouth, we needed to summon the jaws of life.

Called back to the field. Of course, he was the only child up by the cars because I was the only parent in a car.

I gave him a little headbutt and he was off.

Back to work for me.

What about you? What do you do with your waiting around time?

Linking up with Greta @gfunkied and Julie @Mamamash for another iPPP.

Yes…lots of waiting and wondering WHY I rushed to get there on time for pick up. But then the one day you ARE running late, coach ends practice early. Coach and child are standing there with one eyebrow raised and hands on hips…REALLY???

I know, Jules. You’re damned if you stay and damned if you don’t. Joe’s still at the age with football that I figure I better stay around. I don’t want him to decide he’s had enough of the hitting and decided to release himself on his own recognizance.

  3. How I miss those waiting times…. I really do. Because of course the real payoff comes when they’re done with practice, get in the car, and you have the trip home with their sweet company. Nice post!

  4. No sports for my little ones–yet. I’m sure it’s coming.

But… as I wait for them in the car riders’ lines at school, I sit quietly–or play with my tablet. 🙂

Then when they’re in the car, I ask questions and listen. Lots of chatter. I love it–except when they’re arguing. 😉

  5. Love that last picture!! And I love how you started this post, and then BOOM. The waiting. Oh, the waiting. I felt like that for swimming lessons, and know there will only be many more things that make me wait as the kids get older.

I must be a freak as I am looking FORWARD to waiting. I don’t get to wait a whole lot right now- unless you consider waiting ON people waiting- which I guess it isn’t.

    Cute shots!

  7. So cute! I take books or my laptop to work on. I actually get a little peevish when I’m around parents who want to chat me up instead!:)

    what a cutie he is.

Wonder if I can charge my laptop in my car, lol. I can’t wait till Anthony is old enough to play sports.

    Oh, how I get this.

    (Brilliantly done.)

I have not reached the waiting part yet. That…doesn’t look like fun. Ew.
