Musing on Cinderella. I might be slow but the Prince still can’t catch me.
Tortoise.
A turtle. Especially a terrestrial turtle.
* * *
Meet Cinderella.
Yes, the newest member of the Miles’ household is a reptile.
(I guess the last newest member of our household was another reptile — a snake — who escaped.)
Snakes can escape.
Tortoises, turtles who are land bound, cannot. Or so one would think.
This Cinderella has some moves and not just on the dance floor.
You look up and she’s nowhere to be seen.
Okay, we’ve found her every time but I got to admire her chutzpah.
“I maybe be a turtle but…
Don’t fence me in.”
She made it to the pumpkin before the Prince grabbed hold of her shell.
I like her.
I like her more than I thought I could.
With Cinderella, slow is the new fast.
These days I’m into slowing down.
How about you?

I love tortoises! How does Tebow like her? And yes, I’m into slowing down too and getting some time to sit and ponder and WRITE once the holidays are all over…. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year to you, Julia. Tebow doesn’t take much notice of her — though the cats seem to. What do they say about cats and curiosity? It’s funny, if Cinderella is out and we lose track of her, all I do is look for the cats because one of them usually has their eye trained one her. And it is a great week to relax a bit and ponder goals…
[love] the name. cinderella. the cutest thing ever. and super fun. happy new year coming 🙂 love, katie
