I’m Jamie Miles on the sidelines of….

Sportscaster.

That was what I did my fourth grade career report on.

I went down to the local CBS affiliate and interviewed Red McCreary.

That was huge.

I went to college and got a degree in video journalism and did lots of work with the local cable station.

When the glitter on that waned, I used my last two years to get a Political Science degree.

That ended with three years spent at Emory Law School.

After law school I thought, why didn’t I pursue sports journalism.

Had a short stint internship at CNN Sports. It was the graveyard shift and I was newly married.

I turned to PR.

Then Georgia Director of a Bar Review Company. Not students studying mixology degree but a Bar certificate.

Then I became a home.  (Okay — this was supposed to be mom. But I’ve been to Chicago this weekend. Saw Wrigley Field from plane and Solider Field in flesh.)

What did all this have in common?

Writing.

I finally realized what I loved to do was write.

*   *   *

That was my stream of consciousnesses with Jana @jana’sthinkingplace. Five minutes of unedited typing.

The prompt:  How did you settle on your major/career choice?

I followed my heart which was rather confused.

Yet, I finally found a place where I was truly comfortable. Like a laying down on a down comforter of patterned white cotton.

What about you? How did you arrive at your vocation?
