Exams. Preparing (or not preparing) for them.
Haven’t had much time for online socializing this week…but now that it’s almost Thursday my thoughts turn to MamaKat and her prompts.
All this week’s writing prompts spoke to me. Easy peasy to write on all of them.
For some odd reason I gravitated to Number 5.) What about school do you miss the least?
* * *
So many things I loved about all levels of schooling but the one thing I didn’t like immediately leapt to the forefront….
Studying for law school exams.
Excuse me. A little bit of stomach acid just tickled the back of my throat.
In law school, there was only ONE test the entire semester.
No quiz’s.
No Bill Nye the Law School Guy pop exams.
No extra credit for bringing the class homemade chocolate chips cookies or cigars. Believe me. I tried.
Everything rode on what you could write in a blue book for three hours.
So all semester long you are gathering information, putting it into neatly accessible outline form and studying, studying, studying so by the time December rolled around you were set.
Of course not.
Halloween came and went. About middle of November weekends were supposed to be spent hibernating and compiling class notes like a sleepy bear CPA who worked through the dead of winter.
And this was before laptops. All this was done in pen and ink on long yellow legal pads.
Help.
Taking the test wasn’t nearly as bad as making yourself study.
And sitting there watching some stupid NFL game on Sunday afternoon with a gut ache knowing your should be working.
Yep. That would be it. I do not miss studying (or not studying and experiencing that sick-procrastination worry). No way.
What do you miss about school?

I don’t miss the pressure of trying to fit in …
Now, of course, if I were in school, I wouldn’t worry about it. Because I know I’m special even if others don’t
Back then, it was all about trying to win approval ….
I agree with you though – studying for tests was the worst!
I agree with your Jerralea, that was horrible. I especially remember how terrible girls in grade school were to each other. Of course that continued to high school, but by then I had such a great group of all-for-one-and-one-for-all girlfriends who insulated me from all the Queen Bee drama.
I do not miss the exams either and not the law school type but the pop quizzes. I test so bad that it was a miracle I made it through *sigh*
Oh, I don’t miss studying for exams, either. The stress, the stress!
Nothing…LOL!
