Musing on the journey within.

I am stuck. I know there are places where Internet service flows like Gallo at .50 Ladies Wine Night. (Please tell me some one is old enough to remember that.)

I am in a place where the connection dribbles as cement whenever I am trying to hoist up some cheap-as-heck mail box.

So many pictures to post — that will have to wait.

For now is the time to submerge. To reflect on the past and what we truly want to spring forth.

What do I want from my life in the coming year? What do you?

I’m thinking.

I’m thinking on action.

Are you?

Musing on lists. On a Stationery bike.

First remote post.

Pedaling on a stationary bike at Fitness Center.

Today I ran around shopping for about four hours. Started downtown, then Walmart and finished at Ingles. A side trip to shop at Cracker Barrel didn’t happen.

Those living in small towns get that list.

The only problem with my afternoon was that I got to second stop and no list. Must have fallen out some where between Madison Gift Mart (cool Sister plaque in window — got it), Mulberry Toys, Laughing Moon, Antique Sweets, Madison Produce (did you know they had boiled peanuts?), Perk (for coffee and caught last number of Jazz concert. FYI Dr. Vince plats trombone — who knew?) and finished at Pure Bliss.

On that list was food for every meal tonight through Christmas Meal.

Did I panic?

No. Well kind of.

I went back out to car, quieted myself and tried to think through every recipe.

The only thing that stumped me was A hour later in the store, I couldn’t tell if I had written

Camping equipment
orChampagne.

I went with champagne.
P
I’m done with my time on bike.

I’m done with my shopping (except the can of pineapple for the sweet potatoes I forgot).

Off to carol with the neighbors.

Hark the Hearald Angel lip-cynic.

Musing on the Digital Nativity… and clever people.

Some one forwarded me this link saying they thought I “of all people” would appreciate this.  Made me a bit jealous because someone is so very clever to come up with this. But they probably aren’t a wife, mother, neurotic mess.

Okay…they might be..but they’re just more clever than someone who is a wife, mother, neurotic mess and loves the baby Jesus.

The story of how he came. It’s all about the baby you know. Whether 2000 years ago or today.

Take time to watch a bit this. Trust me….I don’t post  links to things that aren’t wonderful.

When the moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars…Or blogging is cheaper than therapy.

That is what the sky is to look like tonight.

Today, Jupiter is going to be in opposition.  Astronomers call this an Event. Not to be confused with The Event on television last night.  I only saw the last 15 minutes because I was out on my porch looking for Jupiter.

How lazy must the executives at NBC be getting to think that a melding 24 and LOST will be the next super show. Right now the jury is out for me. But I hate to have my intelligence insulted that way – by powerful network executives. Even if it is the network of “The Office” and “30 Rock.”

Back to Jupiter….

Last night (the 20th)  Jupiter was the closest to Earth since 1963 — 47 years ago. Last night, Jupiter was only 368 million miles away.

Here is what it looked like from our porch.

See the bitty dot in the bottom left...

It was perfect for a snuggle with Tebow.

It took a while to get the picture right.

Andy’s response…with a fact check on the First Couple.

After I e-mailed Andy a link to the earlier column, his reply e-mail is posted below. Now just like a true journalism grad from the University of Wisconsin — he included a fact check.

Andy wrote;

“Outstanding!!  A great article that brought back a lot of memories.  Hope you’re all doing well, and that you had a peaceful Labor Day Weekend.  Please pass along birthday wishes to Jake.  Our Tim turns 17 in October.

Oh, and, Jamie … Rollllllll Tide!!!!

(I say while ducking from even a thousand miles away …)

-Andy

PS:  One fact check.  Michele was still “Robinson” when I was at Sidley.  She was Class of ’88, like us, and was Barack’s summer mentor when they started dating.”

Andy ended up a tenured law professor. I have a 22-year-old law degree and a blog.

He needs to be hit again…..

Musings about Mornings…

Good morning.

I was out of bed at 4:30 to run. Just discovered an email from my running partner that she is not going to be able to join me. She was up all night with sick child.

Since I’m chicken to head out at 6 a.m. in dark by myself, I’m going to blog about this ~  my favorite time of day.

I won something!

“Are you my pal, Mister Scholarship Winner?”

Okay. I didn’t win a scholarship, but I won a Kreativ Blogger Award. So I got that going for me.

Which is a lot more than I had 5 minutes ago before I read Sena’s comment.

Many, many thanks to Sena. I love her blog, http://flirtingwith30.com/

I flirted with thirty. And have been happily married to him for 16 years since 1993. I can related to many of her humorous observations. Well, if I was hip and living in London in my late 20s. But isn’t a part of us still in our late 20s living in London? Check out her fun.

On with the rules which must be followed are:

1. Post the award on your blog.

2. Give a thank you shout out to the lovely person who bestowed the Major Award upon you.

3. Pass the award on to seven people who you think deserve the title of Kreativ Blogger.

I have picked 5, like Sena.

http://www.annegreenwoodbrown.wordpress.com/ Anne G Brown. Love following her on Twitter. She an attorney – who actually practices. I bailed on that. She’s incredibly talented. The kind of talented  I could get jealous of, if I wasn’t so darn talented myself. Or just maybe I’m just lonely. Can’t decide.

http://www.partsnpieces.typepad.com/  Billie Hara’s blog. She’s incredibly bright, a university professor no less. Love her photography. She’s a gifted person and lover of all things Bruce.

http://www.goodybastos.blogspot.com/ Elizabeth Bastos. A super creative writer. What I love most is her lusty ponderings on food. Reading what she writes about food is more fun than eating. That’s saying a lot.

http://www.extraordinary-ordinary.com/ Heather King. Writer, photographer. And budding videoblogger. Need I say more?

http://www.momontherun.net/ Janice…the mom on the run North of the border. It’s hard not to stay inspired to keep running by reading her posts. And she has my most favorite profile picture of all time. I love the bra.

Okay.

4. Name seven things about yourself that others don’t know.

  • I love raw broccoli and hummus. Like unnaturally love it.
  • I have an identical twin who lives under my bed.
  • I have $45.38 in my checking account.
  • Ringo is my favorite Beatle.
  • In my dreams, I am a world class surfer. One that dolphins love to surf in front of and sharks treat with respect.
  • I did not make my bed today. (God love my husband.)
  • And I secretly love to mow the lawn. It so very uncluttered the way the cut grass looks. It’s the only thing in my life that I can make look that amazingly neat with very little effort.

  5. Don’t forget to notify your seven five bloggers about their award and post a link to their blog.

Thanks Sena. This was fun.
