Muses

Today’s Muse…treasures of the transformed life. Day 1, the need for more.

Okay — Since Will of AComplaintFreeWorld stopped by the blog, I had to go find my purple band.

Honestly, I laid it on my bedside table last night and didn’t really feel like putting it on this morning. Then I saw Will’s encouragement. I now have my band on my left hand and have started 21 days, again.

I’m also going to be blogging my journey through my 40 days of reading through Treasures of the Transformed Life written by John Ed Mathison, a Methodist pastor in Montgomery, Alabama. (I wonder if attendance  in Montgomery was a little off yesterday?)

Since I obviously have ~

accountability issues.

Our church is going through this study together. There is 52 pages of reading the first week. (This was pointed out by two lovely ladies in our rock’n Women of Faith class.)

“How much money would it take to be really satisfied? Just a little bit more.”

John D. Rockefeller said that. I guess he would know if money satisfies. And money does satisfy me a lot. For a bit anyway.

Today’s lesson focuses on water. Now this is not going to be like Clif Notes, you have to go the church office to get your copy and do your work.

Water is what our body needs but how many of us really drink enough? (Other that Stephanie Dickson who actually had a police officer pull her over to question what the heck was in the bottle she was drinking?) It was a bottle filled with WATER.

I’ve tried to do that. Bring water with me in the car. It just sits just and gets all smelly and hot. Icky, hot smelly water ~ yummy.

I drink coffee all the time. Here’s my cup sitting right beside me. (A new cup I picked up last week at an Ocala Cracker Barrel.) There’s always a cup beside me.

But I know I should be drinking more water.

Matheson’s questions..

For what am I thirsty?

For me, obviously lots of coffee.  And other stuff I can’t reveal. (Got to save something for Sunday, you know.)

In what ways to I try to satisfy that thirst?

Lots of things. Food, exercise, fitting into my new jeans, getting published. (Okay, this is something I won’t have to answer on Sunday.)

How could God help?

Make calorie free Cool Ranch Doritos.

Are you doing your home work too? I’ll try to have each day’s lesson posted by 6 a.m.

I still have my band on my left hand. Having to remember all this might get a bit confusing.
